Damascus Christmas is located in Damascus, Oregon. We've had what we consider a great success in the last 2 years with the light show. We have met and talked to hundreds of visitors.
It has been a very painful decision, but the decision is that we will not have a light show for 2008. I would like to at least explain the reason for the decision. Our driveway is shared by a total of 5 homes. For the most part it is a single lane drive. When the light show runs, the traffic actually turns it into a 3 lane drive. I've never minded cars parking on part of my lawn but they also park on our neighbors lawn. If you have been a visitor in the past you have seen the deep ruts develop and the mud everywhere. (There are more rainy days than not here during that time of year) In addition, there is limited space to turn around, as the driveway entrance is also the exit.
The solution would have been to widen the driveway in front of the display. We have been unable to get any sponsorship to accomplish that during this past summer. If anyone has ideas or connections to help get this accomplished, feel free to contact us at: joe@damascuschristmas.com
